After an accident or an electronic fault, the airbag light stays on permanently. At the authorised workshop this usually means: an expensive new airbag control unit is needed. It does not have to be that way! Revonik GmbH repairs your defective control unit and properly resets triggered crash data (Clear Crash Data). Considerably cheaper than a new part, very fast and with a 24-month warranty. With the original unit, vehicle-specific data is retained in many cases. Airbag control unit repair
An illuminated airbag warning light must be diagnosed properly. Revonik checks whether permissible technical processing is possible for an airbag control unit listed in the product database and which further checks on the vehicle are required.
Safety-relevant testing
An airbag fault is not assessed on the basis of a fault code alone. We need the complete fault memory, the part number and the vehicle data for a technical classification.
Clear distinction between cases
Crash data, internal control unit faults and faults in the peripherals are different cases. Diagnosis on the vehicle remains necessary.

What does the initial diagnosis include?
We check your airbag control unit for internal faults and stored crash data on state-of-the-art test benches. The diagnostic fee will be charged in full in the event of a subsequent repair.
Crash data deletion
What is crash data deletion?
After an accident, the control unit saves „crash data“ and locks the system. We reset this data professionally (Clear Crash Data) so that the device is fully operational again.
Software repair
Includes professional repair of software errors (e.g. after battery replacement, vehicle bypass)
Hardware repair
What is hardware repair?
Includes the professional repair of internal electronic defects (e.g. defective processors, communication errors) on the circuit board.

What happens if you ignore the defect?
Danger to life in the event of an accident
The airbag control unit is the centrepiece of occupant safety. If it is defective, neither airbags nor belt tensioners will deploy in an emergency. You risk your life and that of your passengers.
Loss of TÜV approval
An illuminated airbag symbol (SRS) is a serious defect (EM). Your vehicle will not pass the next general inspection (TÜV). This will result in further costs and an immediate driving ban.
High repair costs in the authorised workshop
Workshops usually replace the entire device, which can quickly cost over 1,000 euros. A prompt repair or deletion of the crash data with us will save you this amount.
Cancellation of the insurance cover
In the event of an accident with a knowingly defective airbag system, the car insurance company may reduce or completely refuse to pay benefits.

Do not ignore the defect. Failure of the airbag system leads to acute danger to life in the event of an accident, immediate loss of MOT approval and possible cancellation of your insurance cover. May I keep driving with the airbag warning light on?
An illuminated airbag warning light indicates a fault in a restraint system. Have the cause checked promptly by a qualified workshop. The warning light must not simply be cleared; the cause has to be assessed properly.
Can crash data always be processed?
That depends on the control unit, the vehicle, the event and the technical condition. Before any processing we check whether the procedure is technically and legally permissible and whether further components are affected.
What information do you need?
We need the make, model, year of manufacture, part number, the complete fault memory, a description of the fault and — where relevant — information about the damage event. Please do not enclose personal documents that are not required.
Does the vehicle have to be checked again after installation?
Yes. After installing a processed or replaced airbag control unit, the fault memory, the system status and, where applicable, other affected restraint system components must be checked properly.
